Review from Terri Mays Shawer
My mother Carol Mays has been a resident of Rose lane since August of last year. Previous to that she was at Arbors in Bedford, NH. The decision to put her somewhere other than her home was difficult to say the least. We initially put her at Arbors, although a lovely place the lack of one on one and the fast pace of the establishment was very difficult for my mother. She lost about 30 pounds in a 5 month period. Was not washed properly and we were all unhappy. We were going to move her home until we heard about All American. So we thought we would give it a go and try it out since it's close to her home.
This has been by far the best decision we have made since her Alzheimer diagnosis. But I have to say it is in large part to some of your staff, which is the reason for this letter! My father and I take turns and are there everyday! If it weren't for Kayla, Ben, Melissa, Denise and of course Nurse Sarah and many others this disease would be unbearable for us and my mother! I walk in today and there is Kayla beaming at my mother and primping her hair and telling her how lovely she is and Ben walks by and gives her a hug and asks if she wants an ice cream. Not just my mother but every resident in there daily! They have somehow managed to still treat them as humans and their equals while wiping their chins or teasing them or asking why they are crying and "oh hey Jean let's go for a walk you will feel better". Each and every day they give these people their all and I don't know how they do it. As a family member coming in you feel like you are one big family there. It makes it so much easier to leave knowing they are in such good, capable, caring hands! Sarah literally everyday that she is there takes the time to talk with us which may seem little to some people but is huge to family members. She lets us know right off what kind of day my mother is having, checks up on us to see how we are doing, etc. Ben and Kayla have called to ease our worry on many occasions and honestly are the most amazing young people I have ever met. Every resident there brightens up when they walk into the room or give them attention. Melissa is always there with a helping hand, always and Denise is quick to help with anything you may ask of her. I cannot say enough about these people! They bring so much joy to the residents, whether it's dancing with them, singing karaoke or just listening to their needs.
So thank you! Thank you for bringing these kind and wonderful people into our lives!
